Thanks to everyone who came out to the festivities on Canada Day. I had a lot of fun and I know that it seemed most did. THe open mic/input was killer!

The first cries of a newborn.... JULY 1st!

There it is, the first show. Holzkopf, Eamon Mcgrath (Gin Theft), and doublethink. This is going to be the birth of a new era in Edmonton, and it would be a shame to miss the birth of your own daughter, so dont be a deadbeat dad.

Drumrolls and trumpets, Sxaphones and Nanaimo bars.

The date is official, July 1st. Canada Day!!

There will be much noise to be made so come out and bring your no-input mixer, and leave your earplugs at home because this revolution cant be stopped.

There is still some slots open for the open mic/ open input so if you have been working on some crazy sounds bring em out and let us hear!

A New Hope...

Well, I apparently am the worst at blogging. This blog has changed its focus....

Edmonton Alberta is a dark city, an industrial city. This town is full of noise, and now we are turning up the volume. Tentatively beginning in July, there will be a monthly noise/experimental/ambient show featuring the weird and wonderful talents of our local futurist composers (or anti-composers depending on who you talk to). The basic idea is to have an open mic (or open input more accurately) and also some booked acts. We are not talking about singer/songwriter, jack johnson covers or anything like that. This open mic will be an onslaught of free thought. Noise, Experimental, and Ambient music as well as poetry, spoken word.....even visual artists are welcome. This event will be held monthly at Studio E (above the artery on Jasper Ave) it will be all ages, and is presented by CJSR!!

We are really lucky for this to be happening, especially with the support of both Studio E and CJSR.

so stay attentive young ears, this blog is now going to focus on the noise/experimental scene in Edmonton.
